Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia “absolutely regrets” getting engaged to reality TV star Porsha Williams after dating her for just 30 days.
“Getting engaged in 30 days … who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind to have done that. Of course, I’m paying dearly for it,” Simon said in an interview with Page Six from his home in Nigeria.
Simon is founder of Simcol Petroleum, which supplies refined fuels to the southeast United States.

Simon, 61, was deported back to his country recently after spending four months at an immigration facility near Atlanta.
He accused Porsha of blindsiding him in an attempt to get her hands on his money and property.
The business mogul said he was in a “vulnerable position” when he met Porsha after his divorce from “RHOA” alum Falynn Guobadia.
“This felt like a coup… I was totally blindsided,” he said. After 14 months of marriage, Porsha filed for divorce in February 2024.

“I think I was targeted. I was targeted from day one for financial reasons,” he told Page Six. “When I filed for divorce from my previous ex-wife, [Porsha] was in my DM praying for me. I think I was in a vulnerable position at that time, and I entertained it. So it just kind of snowballed from there.”
The couple had a prenup in place – but the document mostly favored Porsha.

A judge recently finalized their divorce – ordering Simon to pay Porsha $40,000 a month for 2 years. She gets to live in his Sandy Springs mansion for three years.
If she plans to remain in the house after three years, she must obtain a loan to finance the house and give Simon 50% of the home’s equity, according to the court order.
Simon has not started paying Porsha alimony since he plans to appeal the judge’s order all the way to the Supreme Court.

“She never shared her concerns or issues with me before filing for divorce,” he says. “It’s basically what I’ve held from day one about this case when I realized that I was targeted. I’ve had prenups in previous relationships, and I’ve honored those prenups without reservation. This time around, I’ve chosen to challenge in court — all the way to the Supreme Court if I have to.”
Divorces aren’t typically heard at the Supreme Court level.
In a cover story for PEOPLE magazine, Porsha said she paid child support for Simon while he was in ICE custody.
However, Simon tells Page Six he wishes his sons’ mother had not accepted the money.
“[Porsha] sent her two $2,500 payments in one month, and that was it. That didn’t even necessarily cover anything,” he says. “In my opinion it was not done in good faith. It was done to give a narrative in court or to the public that ‘I paid some of his child support.’”

Porsha, 44, told PEOPLE the divorce was “difficult” for her 6-year-old daughter, Pilar. But Simon, who has 5 children, said he didn’t have a relationship with Porsha’s daughter.

He explained that he chooses not to get close to his partner’s children because “there’s a tendency for them to use their children” to get back into his life, “and Porsha is no exception.”
Simon said Porsha sent him a text message a few months into their divorce to say that PJ missed him. He also confirms he did not respond.
“There was a concerted effort at some point that she realized she had made a mistake and wanted to reconcile,” he said. “At that point, I was done.”
