NEW: US-Iran Ceasefire Crumbles, War Takes Explosive Turn

The U.S.-Iran ceasefire is falling apart as President Donald Trump’s military launched another punishing wave of strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz, the oil chokepoint Tehran has tried to turn into its personal hostage zone.

U.S. Central Command said American forces carried out a 90-minute strike operation Wednesday morning after Iran continued threatening commercial shipping and testing Washington’s patience.

The strikes came after overnight attacks that Tehran said killed at least seven military personnel in southeastern Iran.

“CENTCOM launched precision munitions against coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage and launch sites on Greater Tunb Island during the 90-minute wave. The strikes further degraded Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz,” US Central Command said.

Greater Tunb Island sits near the western entrance of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most strategically important waterways on Earth.

The island has long been viewed as part of Iran’s military shield around the strait, where the regime has tried to intimidate ships, rattle oil markets and strong-arm the West.

The strikes began at 6 a.m. Eastern and ended at 7:30 a.m., according to the military.

The latest operation marks another round of American firepower after several consecutive nights of U.S. military action.

Trump has renewed his threat to bomb Iranian civilian infrastructure unless Tehran returns to the negotiating table.

It was a classic Trump message to the mullahs: come back to talks, or watch the cost of defiance climb fast.

Global oil prices and U.S. gas prices rose again Wednesday morning, showing how quickly Iran’s chaos in the Gulf can hit working Americans at the pump.

The U.S. military also said it has reimposed its naval blockade on ships traveling to and from Iranian ports.

Officials said Iran has struck seven commercial ships in the past week, leaving nearly a dozen crew members killed, missing or injured.

That is not diplomacy.

That is piracy with a flag.

The Strait of Hormuz remains the center of the crisis.

The narrow passage once carried roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil, making it a lifeline for the global economy and a favorite pressure point for Iran’s terror-sponsoring regime.

For decades, Tehran has used threats, proxies, missile sites and maritime harassment to scare the West into concessions.

Trump is taking a different approach.

The temporary ceasefire signed in June was supposed to cool the conflict and give diplomacy a chance.

Instead, Iran treated it like breathing room to regroup, threaten shipping and keep pushing for control over one of the world’s most valuable waterways.

The agreement has now been battered by attacks on commercial vessels, renewed U.S. strikes and Tehran’s refusal to back down.

Iranian officials have warned they may move to halt more regional energy exports in retaliation.

That threat could send oil prices even higher and punish American families who had nothing to do with Tehran’s reckless games.

The Trump administration has argued the strikes are necessary to protect freedom of navigation and stop Iran from turning global oil supplies into a bargaining chip.

It is the kind of hard-nosed message Iran understands better than lectures, strongly worded statements or endless diplomatic hand-wringing.

The regime wanted leverage in Hormuz.

Trump answered with precision strikes.

Diplomats are still trying to revive talks, but the battlefield is now setting the terms.

The ceasefire is not just shaky.

It is crumbling under the weight of Iran’s aggression.

And with U.S. forces pounding Iranian military targets near Hormuz, Trump is making clear the mullahs will not be allowed to choke the world’s oil supply without paying a serious price.
