CINCINNATI, OH — A man has been arrested by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after allegedly making violent threats against federal agents and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
The suspect, identified as Anthony Kelly, reportedly operated under an anonymous online alias “BlueCry,” where he posted threats of kidnapping and assassination directed at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and Governor Noem. Authorities confirmed that the threats were taken seriously and swiftly investigated.

According to court documents, Kelly is being charged with multiple federal offenses, including making threats to assault, kidnap, and kill a United States official. DHS agents traced the origin of the anonymous posts using digital forensics and surveillance tools. The investigation revealed credible evidence linking Kelly to the threatening messages.
The threats reportedly included explicit language indicating violent intentions, prompting law enforcement to act quickly to ensure the safety of the targeted individuals. Kelly is currently in federal custody and is expected to face prosecution in a U.S. District Court.
“Threats of violence against law enforcement and elected officials will never be tolerated,” said a spokesperson for DHS. “We are committed to identifying and arresting those who attempt to incite violence or interfere with public service through intimidation or fear.”
Governor Kristi Noem has not made a public comment about the incident, but her office confirmed that she was aware of the arrest and is cooperating fully with federal authorities.
If convicted, Anthony Kelly could face several years in federal prison. The case remains under investigation, and prosecutors have indicated that additional charges may be filed depending on the outcome of further digital evidence analysis.
