Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Get Engaged In a Rose-Covered Garden

In one of Taylor Swift’s first love songs, “Our Song,” she sings, “I almost didn’t notice all the roses and the note that said…” Today, the pop star’s romantic arc comes full circle, as she announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce with a photoshoot in a rose-covered garden.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift captioned the Instagram post.

Swift posted five photos of herself and Kelce in the romantic garden, surrounded by towering trees, assorted stones, and lots of flowers, from pink, red, and white roses to white hydrangeas. Above the couple is an arched trellis, with roses and vines climbing high into the tree-covered space. At each base of the trellis is a stone vase overflowing with even more cascading roses. In the lead photograph, Kelce kneels in front of Swift, with the trellis perfectly framing the pair in the background.

Behind the trellis is a small black outdoor couch with white pillows, where the pair took another photograph. Swift draped her legs over Kelce’s lap as they sat underneath a black chandelier, with more roses hanging from it. Also on the fixture are white candles, adding an even more romantic feel to the space. The whole area resembles a secret garden, where Kelce and Swift could have their private moment.

It hasn’t been confirmed where exactly this garden is located. It could be at one of Swift’s many homes—she has houses in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Nashville, Tennessee, and Beverly Hills, California. (She also has a sprawling Tribeca townhouse, though that seems unlikely given the size of the garden.) Or the garden could be in another spot entirely.

Swift and Kelce have been dating for two years and have since captured the public’s attention. Swift recently appeared on Kelce’s New Heights podcast and brought him on stage at the Eras Tour. She also references him in her song “So High School,” off her album, The Tortured Poets Department. “You know how to ball, I know Aristotle,” the refrain goes.

No wedding details have been announced yet but for Swift and Kelce, it seems everything is coming up roses.
