Trump Calls Out Rep. Grijalva for False Claim About Being Pepper-Sprayed by ICE

President Donald Trump is pushing back hard after Democratic Rep. Adelita Grijalva claimed she was pepper-sprayed by ICE officers while participating in a left-wing protest.

The allegation quickly spread among liberal commentators, with some online activists implying ICE had deployed force against peaceful demonstrators. But no official report, bodycam evidence, or agency statement has confirmed the claim.

Trump allies say this is part of a growing pattern of Democrats inflating or misrepresenting confrontations with law enforcement for political gain.

A senior administration official said the President views the allegation as “another manufactured narrative designed to smear ICE while they carry out lawful orders.”

Supporters argue that if the claim is false or exaggerated, Congress should take action against anyone attempting to mislead the public about federal officers, especially during a period of heightened scrutiny around immigration enforcement.

Republicans are now demanding transparency from Rep. Grijalva’s office, noting that ICE has reported no use of pepper spray at the protest in question.

As of now, Grijalva has not released evidence supporting the claim.

The Trump administration continues to defend ICE officers, saying they are being unfairly targeted by political activists while carrying out legal duties to enforce immigration law
