Dallas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett says she is strongly considering a 2026 run for the U.S. Senate as she awaits the results of private polling, according to several recent interviews.
Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, Crockett told host Jake Tapper, “We did get our polling back … so we are moving on to the next phase to determine … whether this is what makes sense in the moment … and if the infrastructure can be built … to actually be able to win.”
On CBS Texas, she said she would make her decision by Thanksgiving, explaining that the polling numbers will guide whether she runs for Senate or seeks reelection to the House.
Crockett also told The Lurie Daniel Favors Show on SiriusXM that her potential Senate bid is tied to her belief that she can “expand the electorate”—bringing out voters who don’t usually participate, similar to how President Obama did in 2008.
She framed the decision as more than personal ambition, saying:
“If the numbers are strong … then it’s bigger than my district. It’s bigger than the state of Texas … This is about the country … because we know if we can change the Senate map … that’s where we start to get wins.”
Crockett said she will share her internal polling data with her potential Democratic primary rivals—including State Rep. James Talarico and former Congressman Colin Allred—to inform her decision.
She emphasized her commitment to Democratic unity by saying that if a different candidate has a better path forward, she will support them: “If the polling shows that either Allred or Talarico would fare better … I care about a win … so long as it is a W.”
