President Donald J. Trump made a striking claim Monday, alleging that the Department of Justice is in possession of evidence implicating Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) in a mortgage loan fraud scheme.
Speaking during a press event at the White House, President Trump stated:
“The DOJ has Adam Schiff 100% on mortgage fraud. It’s mortgage loan fraud — a BIG deal! He defrauded banks, insurance companies, and the federal government.”
Trump did not offer documentation or further details to support the accusation, and neither the Department of Justice nor Rep. Schiff’s office has issued an official response as of Tuesday morning.
The allegation, if proven true, would involve serious financial crimes — including falsifying mortgage information, misleading financial institutions, and potentially violating federal lending laws.
