VIDEO: Trump Alleges DOJ Has Evidence of Mortgage Fraud Involving Rep. Adam Schiff

President Donald J. Trump made a striking claim Monday, alleging that the Department of Justice is in possession of evidence implicating Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) in a mortgage loan fraud scheme.

Speaking during a press event at the White House, President Trump stated:

“The DOJ has Adam Schiff 100% on mortgage fraud. It’s mortgage loan fraud — a BIG deal! He defrauded banks, insurance companies, and the federal government.”

Trump did not offer documentation or further details to support the accusation, and neither the Department of Justice nor Rep. Schiff’s office has issued an official response as of Tuesday morning.

The allegation, if proven true, would involve serious financial crimes — including falsifying mortgage information, misleading financial institutions, and potentially violating federal lending laws. Mortgage fraud is typically prosecuted under statutes covering bank fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy, all of which can carry heavy penalties.

Rep. Schiff, a prominent Democrat and former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has been a frequent target of President Trump since Schiff led the first impeachment inquiry against him in 2019.

This is not the first time Trump has accused Schiff of misconduct. However, Monday’s allegation marks the most specific criminal accusation to date, focusing on financial impropriety rather than political or intelligence-related disputes.

Legal experts have noted that if the DOJ has indeed opened a case involving Schiff, it would likely require substantial documentary evidence such as false loan applications, fraudulent insurance claims, or internal communications.

House Republicans have called for an official investigation into Schiff’s past financial dealings, particularly regarding real estate holdings and business interests disclosed in ethics filings. Meanwhile, Democrats have dismissed Trump’s statements as politically motivated.

As of this report, there is no public confirmation from the DOJ regarding any active case or indictment against Rep. Schiff.
