In a stunning and controversial statement, Tulsi Gabbard has accused former President Barack Obama of covering up damaging information that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly held over Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential campaign.
According to Gabbard, the Kremlin was in possession of explosive material — including evidence of potential criminal activity — that could have derailed Clinton’s run had she secured a victory.
“This included possible criminal acts, like secret meetings with multiple organizations,” Gabbard said in a statement circulating online. “In exchange for supporting Secretary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency, significant increases in financing flowed from the State Department.”
Gabbard also referenced documents purportedly showing preferential treatment within the State Department, allegedly tied to employees who backed Clinton’s campaign.
Adding fuel to the fire, she cited unverified claims about internal DNC communications that pointed to concerns over Clinton’s emotional state and her reported use of tranquilizers to manage stress.
While these allegations have not been independently verified, the accusations are already triggering sharp reactions across political lines, with some demanding a deeper investigation into what was known — and when.
The Obama and Clinton camps have yet to respond publicly to Gabbard’s latest comments.
