A recent video circulating online shows an undocumented immigrant announcing that he is leaving the United States voluntarily, saying he would rather return to his home country than risk being detained by federal immigration authorities.
The man, who spoke in Spanish throughout the clip, expressed frustration with the current enforcement climate and said he no longer feels welcome in the country.
In the footage, he states that he is “self-deporting” before Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can take him into custody.
The man explains that the recent increase in enforcement actions has heightened fear within immigrant communities, leading him to make the decision to leave on his own. “They make us feel unwelcome here,” he said, according to an English translation circulating with the video.
The clip has gained significant attention online, with many viewers sharing it as an example of how immigration policies and enforcement efforts are influencing undocumented individuals to depart without formal removal orders.
