VIDEO: Pam Bondi Says National Guard Presence in U.S. Cities Will Increase Following Afghan Attack

Attorney General Pam Bondi says the federal government will not scale back National Guard deployments in U.S. cities following the recent attack involving an Afghan national. Instead, Bondi confirmed that troop levels will increase as federal and state agencies respond to rising security concerns.

“We are bringing in our National Guard to every city we possibly can who needs our help. And that’s a lot of them,” Bondi said, emphasizing that the administration intends to expand security efforts rather than withdraw forces.

Bondi also stated that neither President Trump nor Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has any plans to reduce the number of troops currently assisting local law enforcement across the country.

Her comments come amid heightened national attention to domestic security after the attack, which has prompted renewed focus on federal support for vulnerable cities. Officials have not yet released detailed deployment numbers or identified which cities may receive additional personnel.

The White House is expected to provide more information as coordination with state governors continues.
