Science teacher at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Florida arrested after allegedly grooming student on Google Docs before sexually abusing the student in the classroom.
26-year-old Elias Gordon Farley has been arrested for the alleged sex crimes. Farley is accused of using a shared Google Doc to communicate with the student before engaging in “sexual acts” with her inside the classroom and at his home.
The alleged encounters went on for months in both Farley’s office, apartment, and a classroom, according to detectives. School surveillance video backs up the girl’s account, showing Farley and her entering his office on Nov. 7 and later a classroom for around an hour.
The student eventually confided in an art teacher. She showed the teacher bruises and bite marks, allegedly from Farley. The teacher is facing charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and offense against a student by an authority figure. He is being held on $500,000 bond.
“We are approaching this serious situation with the utmost care, keeping the well-being of our students, faculty and families at the forefront,” the school said in a statement.
