Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei issued a warning to the United States, saying that like previous administrations, President Donald Trump will not succeed in undermining the Islamic Republic.
In remarks carried by Iranian state media, Khamenei said Iran would defend itself against any military threat and suggested U.S. forces operating near the country could face retaliation if conflict escalates.
Iranian officials have long argued that Washington’s pressure campaigns and sanctions have failed to destabilize the country’s leadership, while U.S. administrations have maintained that economic and diplomatic pressure are aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional military activities.
The exchange underscores continuing tensions between Iran and the United States, particularly over military presence in the Persian Gulf, sanctions policy, and nuclear negotiations.
