Sacramento City Councilmember Mai Vang, a Democrat running for Congress, just showed the country exactly who she is. In multiple city council meetings, this daughter of Hmong refugees was caught on video deliberately turning away from the American flag and refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance while everyone else stood and participated.This isn’t some innocent oversight. Vang has openly admitted it’s intentional. She claims it’s “reflection” on communities supposedly harmed by U.S. policies. Translation: She’s using her elected position to sneer at the country that gave her family refuge and opportunity.While real Americans honor the flag that represents freedom, sacrifice, and the greatest experiment in self-government in history, Vang pouts and looks away like a petulant child. This is the same woman Democrats want to send to Washington. A sitting council member who can’t even fake basic loyalty to the nation she was elected to serve.This behavior isn’t “nuance” or “activism.” It’s contempt. Elected officials swear an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States—not to grandstand against it. If Vang hates the symbols of this country so much, she should step down and let someone who actually appreciates America take her seat.Democrats keep wondering why normal people are rejecting their party. Videos like this are the reason. When your candidates treat the Pledge and the flag like optional accessories, you’ve lost the plot. America doesn’t need more ingrates in power. It needs leaders who stand up straight, face the flag, and mean every word of the Pledge. Mai Vang has proven she’s not one of them.
