‘GET AWAY FROM ME!’: Nancy Pelosi, 86, Snaps At Reporter In Bizarre Interaction

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi snapped at a reporter on Capitol Hill on Thursday after being pressed about Jan. 6 and claims surrounding security at the building that day.

The tense exchange quickly turned personal, with the California Democrat repeatedly accusing the reporter of spreading falsehoods and questioning whether she was a legitimate journalist because of her work for MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

The confrontation began when reporter Alison Steinberg approached Pelosi and brought up a previous run-in over whether the former speaker had blocked the National Guard from securing the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Steinberg claimed Pelosi had previously told her to “shut up” for repeating Republican talking points.

Pelosi did not back down.

“And I’ll tell you to shut up again because you’re speaking lies, and I don’t have anything to do with it,” Pelosi responded.

When Steinberg alleged that Pelosi had admitted involvement, Pelosi pushed back hard.

“No, I did not admit it. The president never sent– would agree to send the National Guard. Don’t waste your time or mine on you.”

The exchange grew even more heated when Steinberg asked about Pelosi’s daughter filming her during the events of Jan. 6.

Pelosi refused to keep engaging and told the reporter to “get away from me.”

Then the former speaker turned her attention to Steinberg’s employer.

“You know what, I don’t even think you’re a real journalist. You work for Mike, pillow man?” Pelosi asked.

Steinberg confirmed she worked for Lindell and said she was proud of it.

Pelosi was not impressed.

“Yeah, I don’t consider that journalism. Mike the pillow man, that’s not journalism. I don’t have any reason to talk to you.”

The back-and-forth continued as Steinberg tried to press Pelosi, but the former speaker made clear she wanted the interaction recorded.

“You should record this. I want people to know that you’re not a real journalist. You work for Mike the pillow man, and all you do is spout untruths. Get away from me,” Pelosi stated.

Steinberg reportedly offered Pelosi a free pillow during the confrontation, but Pelosi continued to reject the questions and the reporter’s credibility.

As Steinberg attempted to respond, Pelosi repeated her demand.

“Get away from me.”

The bizarre hallway clash offered another glimpse of Pelosi’s combative style when confronted over Jan. 6, a subject that remains a political flashpoint years after the Capitol riot.

Republicans have continued to raise questions about security failures that day, while Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly denied claims that she blocked the National Guard from being deployed.

But on Thursday, the former speaker’s response was less about a long explanation and more about shutting the conversation down.

For Pelosi, the reporter’s connection to Lindell was enough to dismiss the exchange entirely.

For critics, the moment was another example of Washington’s political class bristling when confronted with questions it does not want to answer.
