BREAKING: Iran Launches Missile Attack On Israeli Territory

In the first significant attack on Israeli territory since the U.S.-Iran  regional conflict began on February 28,  Tehran launched several ballistic missiles towards Israeli territory on Sunday, June 7. The attack marks the most significant escalation in the conflict since a ceasefire was agreed to by all sides in mid-April.

The Israeli military reported detecting launches and stated that its air defenses intercepted the projectiles, with no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage. Blasts were heard in northern areas, including near Nahariya, but details remained limited at this time.

The attack followed Israeli strikes earlier on June 7 on the southern outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon, which targeted Hezbollah targets. Those strikes, as well additional strikes launched on the previous day, came despite a Trump-brokered peace agreement that aimed to provide lasting peace in Lebanon and the demilitarization of Hezbollah.

Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, stated on social media that Iran had warned repeatedly against cease-fire breaches or actions against Lebanon. He described the strikes against Israel as a “warning” and stated that conflict would erupt across the region in the event of a response.

Israeli officials reported that the Air Force intercepted all missiles from the initial barrages, though additional launches were noted. Education Minister Yoav Kisch announced that schools nationwide would close on Monday, June 8, as a precautionary measure.

No additional impacts targeting regional U.S. Military targets or infrastructure in the Gulf States have been reported at this time.

Sunday’s strikes occur against the backdrop of a fragile truce established back in April. Negotiations for a longer-term agreement have continued but faced repeated strains from proxy actions, cease-fire disputes, and issues involving the Strait of Hormuz.

While small exchanges of fire have occurred on numerous occasions since then, the latest attacks marked the first time Iran has attacked Israeli territory since the truce was established.

Israel has not issued detailed public statements on potential retaliation as of the latest updates, though its military confirmed defensive actions and ongoing monitoring.

President Donald Trump has been briefed on the attack and issued a short statement to Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst. “What I would suggest to Iran: You’ve shot your missiles, that’s enough. Get back to the table and make a deal,” he said.

This is a developing story. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
