‘The View’ Loses It Over ‘Michelle Obama Is A Man’ Comment At UFC 250

The ladies of “The View” had another full-blown meltdown after UFC fighter Josh Hokit used his post-fight victory speech to take a jab at former first lady Michelle Obama.

Hokit scored the biggest win of his career Sunday night at UFC Freedom 250 on the White House South Lawn, defeating Derrick Lewis during an event celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.

But the fight itself was quickly overshadowed by what Hokit said after the victory.

Addressing the crowd, Hokit shouted, “Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?”

The crowd erupted in cheers as Hokit walked out of the ring.

That was more than enough to send “The View” into its usual outrage cycle.

Sunny Hostin claimed the remark was not just a crude shot at a former first lady, but part of a much deeper racial attack on black women.

“Black women have been slurred and made to feel that they were unattractive… masculine and didn’t have the femininity that a White woman would have” – Hostin

Hostin tied the comment to slavery, arguing that black women have historically been demeaned and portrayed as less feminine than white women.

The reaction landed exactly where viewers have come to expect from the ABC panel, a culture-war monologue that turned one fighter’s post-fight line into a national lecture on race, gender and American history.

Ana Navarro also jumped in, saying she planned to celebrate by watching the livestream of Obama’s presidential library opening.

Conservatives quickly mocked the segment, arguing that “The View” managed to turn a viral UFC moment into another grievance-heavy lecture while ignoring the fact that Hokit’s line was clearly aimed at stirring up the crowd.

The claim involving Michelle Obama has circulated online for years and has been discussed by figures including Alex Jones and Jason Whitlock.

According to Snopes, versions of the theory date back to at least 2008.

The claim drew renewed attention in 2014 after the late comedian Joan Rivers was recorded on a New York City street saying Michelle Obama was transgender and former President Barack Obama was gay.

It later spread across social media and even appeared on the Facebook page of a Republican state lawmaker in Kentucky.

Snopes, PolitiFact, USA Today, Agence France-Presse and Reuters have all published reports addressing different versions of the claim, though it continues to resurface online.

Still, “The View” hosts treated Hokit’s remark as a moment demanding maximum outrage.

For critics of the show, the reaction was another example of the panel doing what it does best: taking a provocative comment from the right and turning it into a sweeping indictment of America.

Hokit may have won inside the cage, but his bigger victory was forcing the daytime TV outrage machine to spend another segment fuming over a line that had already done exactly what it was meant to do.
