VIDEO: Trump Saves Brigitte Macron From Tumble During G7 Photoshoot

President Donald Trump stopped French First Lady Brigitte Macron from falling in a viral moment at the G7 summit held in Évian-les-Bains, France on Wednesday.

The event occurred on Tuesday, June 16, as world leaders and their spouses gathered for a traditional group photograph

Video footage from the summit shows Brigitte Macron, wearing a white dress and heels, navigating steps as the group prepared for the photo. She appeared to momentarily lose her balance, at which point Trump, positioned nearby, steadied her. French President Emmanuel Macron stood close by during the sequence.

Macron seemed to hold or reach for Trump’s hand for support while assembling for the official family photo. The clip circulated quickly online, prompting varied reactions. Some observers noted it as a courteous gesture reflecting quick reflexes, while others viewed it as an awkward diplomatic interaction.

The G7 summit, hosted by France, focused on topics including the situation in the Middle East, stability in the Strait of Hormuz, the war in Ukraine, trade, energy, artificial intelligence, and international cooperation. Leaders from G7 nations met with invited partners from other countries. On the final day, sessions addressed global economic imbalances and AI, with executives from companies such as OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Anthropic participating.

The summit concluded with a dinner at the Palace of Versailles hosted by the Macrons, commemorating the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.

During the dinner, President Trump formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to the U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending the conflict and partially reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
