New dashcam footage shows the horrifying crash that left ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller with catastrophic injuries, including the loss of his left arm.
The video, obtained by The California Post on Tuesday, shows Miller’s blue 2023 Ford Bronco traveling on a Jasper County, Missouri, road around 3:50 p.m. on June 17 before suddenly veering over the centerline.
The Bronco then slammed into an oncoming semi-truck.
The truck appeared to try to move out of the way, but it could not avoid the collision.
Photos of the crash scene show Miller’s Bronco badly mangled after skidding several yards off the roadway and coming to rest in a patch of grass.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Miller had been wearing his seat belt properly, but “during the crash and due to the extensive damage” to the vehicle, the belt was cut and Miller was ejected.
A witness described the scene as terrifying in the crash report.
“I was leaving my sister’s house,” the witness said. “I might have been maybe 100 yards behind. I witnessed the Bronco just a hard swerve into the semi’s lane. The semi tried to swerve. It made contact. I haven’t ever seen a car explode like that. I ran to the Bronco and there was no one in the vehicle. I heard groaning behind me.
“I saw a man laying in the grass. I called 911.”
Miller suffered devastating injuries, according to a GoFundMe set up by his family after the crash.
The fundraiser said he had “a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap” and “multiple broken ribs.”
It also said Miller “lost a significant amount of blood” and had to have his left arm amputated.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol report listed the probable contributing circumstance as “improper lane usage/change” by Miller.
The report listed as “unknown” whether alcohol or marijuana use was involved.
The semi-truck driver was not injured and was not under the influence of alcohol or marijuana, according to the report.
Miller has made several public statements since the crash.
On July 10, he wrote on X that he had undergone multiple successful surgeries and was “stepping away indefinitely” from ESPN to “best focus on my healing and recovery.”

“Thank you to all for the prayers and thoughts; please keep them coming,” he wrote.
The crash has drawn sympathy for Miller’s brutal injuries.
But it has also revived scrutiny over separate allegations involving fantasy football leagues and charitable payments connected to the analyst.
Several social media users have accused Miller of withholding prize money or failing to fully account for charitable funds tied to fantasy football contests and scouting-related payments.
The Missouri Attorney General’s Office has opened an investigation into the complaints, Awful Announcing reported earlier this month.
Miller has not publicly addressed the allegations.
The crash footage adds another disturbing layer to a story that was already drawing attention far beyond the sports world.
One man is recovering from life-altering injuries.
Another driver walked away unhurt.
And now, as Miller steps away from ESPN, investigators are asking questions about a separate mess that still has not been publicly answered.
