A number of supporters of Lindsay Clancy — a Massachusetts woman who is currently on trial for the murder of her three young children — told TPUSA Frontlines that they believe Clancy is an innocent “loving mother” as they gathered to support her outside the courtroom.
Clancy is currently on trial for the January 2023 deaths of her three children, all of whom she strangled to death before jumping out of a second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt. Clancy has admitted to killing the children, but has argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and cannot be held criminally responsible.
Footage obtained TPUSA Frontlines the outlet shows several dozen supporters of Clancy, the majority of whom were women dressed in pink, outside the courthouse on Thursday, August 20. “To the people that are upset and believe she killed her three children and she should be convicted, what would be your message to them?” a group of women gathered in support of Clancy were asked.
“I’m so grateful for you that you never experienced even remotely what women experience in postpartum,” one stone-faced Clancy supporter responded, to which two others agreed.
“And admittedly, she did admit to killing them, but the woman you see now is completely different from the woman who did that to her kids,” another woman chimed in. “And I think it’s really difficult for people to hold two truths that may seem opposite simultaneously; she can be a wonderful, loving mother, and she did this horrible thing. That she was so sick. I mean, I’ve seen the testimony every day. I can see how devastated she is, and I believe her. I believe her.”

The group also held a moment of silence in support of the admitted child killer while the trial was ongoing. “It’s become very clear that there is a mental health crisis, and clearly a lot of other women feel the same,” Renee Kimball, an organizer of the gathering, told the Boston Globe. “I think that’s why we’re gathered here today, to show Lindsay the support and the peace that she begged for and didn’t quite get.”
Prosecutors have argued that Clancy deliberately killed her children and was not in a state of postpartum psychosis while carrying out the crime. Closing arguments are expected to begin early next weeks after four weeks of testimony.
