Jurors deciding Lindsay Clancy’s fate asked to review critical evidence Friday morning as deliberations continued in her Massachusetts murder trial.
Clancy’s family and members of the public returned to the courtroom as Judge William Sullivan appeared to hold up two clear plastic bags containing bottles of her medication.
Defense attorney Kevin Reddington later told the Daily Mail that jurors wanted to examine the two bags of pill bottles recovered by police and Clancy’s ex-husband, Patrick. They also requested the bloody knife she used during her suicide attempt.
The 12-member jury began deliberating Thursday after hearing closing arguments from prosecutors and the defense.
Nine women and three men were selected from a group of 18 jurors. They must decide whether Clancy is guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter, not guilty, or not guilty by reason of insanity.
Clancy strangled her three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan, inside the family’s Duxbury home in January 2023.
The former labor and delivery nurse has pleaded not guilty. Her defense argues that she was suffering from postpartum depression and psychosis after months of psychiatric treatment and repeated medication changes.

Clancy was prescribed at least 13 different psychiatric medications during the four months before the killings.
Lindsay and Patrick Clancy, who have since divorced, have filed separate medical malpractice lawsuits against providers involved in her care.
Prosecutors argue the killings were deliberate and that Lindsay Clancy understood and controlled her actions at the time. Her attorneys maintain that she was legally insane.
