Fox News ‘Outnumbered’ Host Delivers Emotional Goodbye

Emily Compagno delivered an emotional goodbye to “Outnumbered” viewers Friday as she closed out more than five years as a permanent co-host ahead of her move to “The Five.”

Compagno, who has been a fixture on the Fox News daytime panel since 2021, used her final signoff to thank viewers and the team behind the show before heading to her new permanent home in the network’s highly rated 5 p.m. hour.

“And now everyone watching, after almost six years, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you at home who trusted me to help deliver and analyze the news every day at noon ET,” Compagno said.

She then turned her attention to the people behind “Outnumbered,” thanking those who helped put the program together each day.

“And to the incredible crew on this stage, my executive producer Trina Thompson, and to our entire ‘Outnumbered’ team, whose dedication, professionalism, and sheer talent are the reason for this show’s excellence day in and day out,” Compagno said.

“It has been an extraordinary privilege and an honor to serve as a co-host of ‘Outnumbered’,” she added before signing off with a nod to her next assignment: “From now on, see you at 5:00.”

Compagno will officially take her permanent seat on “The Five” on Tuesday, Sept. 8, joining Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov rotate in the program’s liberal seat.

Fox News announced the promotion last month as part of a shake-up involving one of the biggest programs in cable news.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott hailed Compagno as a “standout” whose “energy and talent” have impressed across the network.

The move also leaves a coveted opening on “Outnumbered.”

Fox said a rotation of network personalities will temporarily fill Compagno’s seat while the network searches for a permanent replacement.

Compagno first joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018 before being named a permanent co-host of “Outnumbered” in January 2021. She had already appeared regularly on both “Outnumbered” and “The Five” before landing the daytime role.

Her promotion now gives her a permanent spot on Fox News’ ratings powerhouse.

“The Five” averaged 3.6 million viewers during the second quarter of 2026, according to Nielsen figures released by Fox. The program also drew 322,000 viewers in the key 25-to-54 demographic and finished its 19th consecutive quarter as the highest-rated show in cable news.

Compagno celebrated the promotion when Fox announced it last month, describing her new role as an “incredible privilege.”

“I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started,” she said.

The move caps Compagno’s lengthy run at noon and puts her front and center on one of Fox News’ marquee programs beginning next week.
