Chilling New Details Emerge From Tyler Robinson Trial; Alleged Assassin Interacted With TPUSA Before Attack

Tyler Robinson allegedly mingled with Turning Point USA staff and ate Chick-fil-A on the Utah Valley University campus in the hours before Charlie Kirk was assassinated, according to new testimony in court.

The disturbing details emerged Tuesday during the second day of Robinson’s preliminary hearing in Provo, Utah.

Robinson, 23, is accused of killing Kirk during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.

Prosecutors introduced several pieces of evidence, including campus surveillance footage they say tracked Robinson’s movements before and after the shooting.

David Hull, the Utah law enforcement agent who led the investigation into Kirk’s murder, testified that he believed the individual seen in the footage was Robinson.

Hull said the person authorities identify as Robinson interacted with Turning Point USA staff and ate Chick-fil-A for lunch that day.

Subsequent footage, according to Hull, showed the individual alleged to be Robinson wearing different clothing.

Prosecutors also played footage showing an individual on the roof of a campus building at the time of the shooting.

The person later lowered himself from the building while holding something in his hand, according to testimony.

Investigators have focused on the Losee Center for Student Success, where authorities say the fatal shot was fired.

The footage is a key part of the prosecution’s effort to show Robinson’s alleged path across campus, from arrival to the rooftop and then away from the scene after Charlie Kirk was shot.

Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, attended Tuesday’s hearing, according to the AP.

The late conservative activist’s family was also present on the first day of the hearing Monday but left the courtroom as a witness began discussing Kirk’s death.

The Kirk family released a statement on social media before the hearing began this week.

“Every court proceeding serves as a painful reminder of his death and the loss that has irrevocably impacted our lives and the lives of his children,” they said in the statement. “We remain deeply grateful for the support, prayers, and kindness we have received. This outpouring has sustained us during the darkest days of our lives.”

Robinson has not yet entered a plea.

He faces aggravated murder and other felony charges, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty if he is convicted.

The preliminary hearing is expected to continue Wednesday.
