Famed Rock Band Involved In Fatal Crash

The tour bus of popular late 90’s rock band Buckcherry was involved in a multi-vehicle accident early on Friday morning along Interstate 26 in South Carolina.

“At approximately 2:00 AM Friday morning, Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. We are extremely grateful to report that all members of Buckcherry and our touring crew are safe and unharmed,” the band announced in a press release. “Tragically, authorities have confirmed that the collision that occurred ahead of our bus resulted in a fatality. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life.”

The band added their upcoming performances are expected to proceed as planned and thanked fans for the outpouring of concern and well wishes.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the sequence began with a single-vehicle crash in the area. The driver of that vehicle exited and was on the roadway when a Toyota sedan traveling east struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been publicly released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional details from the South Carolina Highway Patrol indicate the events unfolded as three separate incidents. The first was the single-vehicle crash involving a male driver, with the cause still under investigation. The deceased person was then struck by a separate vehicle after exiting his own car.

The driver of the striking vehicle was not arrested, and the cause of that crash remains under investigation as of this report.

A subsequent five-vehicle crash then involved the Buckcherry tour bus. Some individuals in that collision sustained minor injuries, but none required transport to a hospital.

The cause of the bus-involved crash is also under investigation, and the exact extent of contact between the tour bus and other vehicles has not been detailed by officials.

The band was traveling as part of its Roar Like Thunder tour in support of the album of the same name released in June 2025. The group had performed in North Carolina prior to the incident and continued to its next scheduled show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which took place as planned on Saturday night.

No further official statements from band members beyond the initial release or additional comments from highway patrol troopers have been issued as of this report.
