Kuwait said Thursday it shot down multiple Iranian drones over its airspace after another overnight attack rattled one of America’s key Gulf allies.
The Kuwaiti Defense Ministry said the Iranian drones were intercepted and destroyed, but falling debris caused damage to “vital and military” facilities.
No casualties were reported, according to Kuwait’s army.
The attack marked the latest sign that Iran’s regional war is no longer confined to U.S. forces or Israeli targets.
Tehran is now putting pressure on American allies across the Middle East, including Kuwait, Jordan and other countries that host U.S. military assets.
Kuwait’s army said in a post on X that it was “taking all necessary measures to protect the sovereignty of the homeland, preserve its security and stability, in coordination with the competent authorities, in a manner that preserves the safety of citizens and residents.
The drone barrage came as President Donald Trump announced a new Gaza peace framework under the Board of Peace, confirming Thursday that Hamas had agreed to a phased disarmament plan followed by Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza.
But even as Trump pushed a diplomatic breakthrough in Gaza, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps continued launching attacks across the region.
The IRGC has targeted U.S. bases in Kuwait and Jordan and struck an oil tanker in Egypt on Wednesday, further widening a conflict that has already shaken shipping lanes, oil markets and Gulf governments.
Saudi Arabia also convened a meeting of 43 countries to discuss a coalition to guard vessels passing through the Red Sea as Riyadh prepares for an offensive against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
The move signals that America’s Arab allies are increasingly willing to confront Tehran’s proxy network directly.
U.S. forces answered Iran’s latest attacks Wednesday with another round of strikes, according to U.S. Central Command.
CENTCOM said the strikes were carried out in response to Iranian attacks on U.S. bases in the region.

The latest fighting comes after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard launched missile attacks against a U.S. military base in the Middle East.
Those missiles were intercepted before reaching their target.
For Gulf allies like Kuwait, the danger is immediate.
Iranian drones and missiles may be aimed at military sites, but their debris can still fall near civilian infrastructure, energy facilities and residential areas.

That makes every intercepted attack a close call.
Kuwait has already reported repeated Iranian drone and missile activity in recent days, including attacks that targeted vital installations and military sites.
Earlier this month, Kuwaiti officials said Iranian attacks caused fires and damage at facilities connected to the country’s electricity, water and renewable energy ministry.
The latest strike did not cause deaths or injuries, but it added to the pressure on a region already bracing for more Iranian retaliation.
Trump’s administration has made clear it will keep hitting back when Iran targets American troops or allies.
That posture has drawn support from conservatives who argue Tehran only responds to strength, not statements.
Iran has spent years using proxies to harass U.S. forces, threaten global shipping and destabilize American partners while trying to avoid the cost of direct confrontation.
Now, the cost is rising.
Kuwait is shooting down Iranian drones.
Saudi Arabia is moving toward action against the Houthis.
The U.S. is striking Iranian-linked targets.

Iran may have failed to score casualties in the latest attack, but it succeeded in sending another warning to America’s allies.
