The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Johns Island man accused of possessing sexually explicit files involving children and distributing one such file.
Marvin Humbert, 70, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and four counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to jail records.
Investigators executed a search warrant at his Maybank Highway home on Thursday after an investigator received a cyber tip a user, whom they later identified as Humbert, uploaded a sexually explicit image of a female child between the ages of 8 and 10 to a server
During the search warrant, investigators found “numerous files” that contained images of a child engaging in sexual activity or appearing in a state of sexually explicit nudity.
Homeland Security Investigations and the Charleston, North Charleston and Mount Pleasant Police Departments assisted in the investigation.
