JUST IN: Body Found At Home Owned By Husband Of ‘Squad’ Democrat

Boston police on Saturday received an “investigate person” call for an address in the city’s Mattapan section and discovered an individual deceased at the residence upon arrival. The property is owned by the husband of U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

“When they arrived, they found the person deceased,” Boston Police Department spokesperson James Moccia said in a statement. Moccia added that the department’s homicide unit is currently investigating the matter.

The property is a two-story, seven-bedroom home built in 1910. City of Boston property records identify Conan Harris, husband of U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley, as the owner, according to a report from CBS News.

The home carries an assessed value of more than $919,000. It was listed for sale with an asking price of $1.15 million and had been on the market for about one month prior to the incident. The property has functioned as a rental, with the same tenants in residence for an extended period.

“The congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family,” a spokesperson for the congresswoman’s office said in a statement. The office also noted that the home is a rental property.

Red crime scene tape was placed around portions of the property, which includes a blue exterior and white picket fence. Photos from the scene included a “for sale” sign out front of the property, while realtor Chantae Turner, who listed the home, stated that the property had recently entered the market and added that the situation “sounds unfortunate, though.”

Earlier the same morning, before the police response at the Malta Street address, Conan Harris attended a renaming ceremony at the Shaw-Roxbury Branch Library. He delivered remarks at the podium on behalf of Representative Pressley, according to a report from the Boston Globe.

As of Saturday evening, authorities have not yet released any public information on the identity of the deceased, the cause of death, or additional circumstances of the discovery. It has not been confirmed whether the death investigation involves any indication of foul play. The inquiry remains active, and few further details were available from officials at the scene as of this report.

A neighbor reported recalling a police raid at the residence approximately two months before it was listed for sale. At that time, tenants occupied each floor of the property, including high school-aged individuals, The Globe reported.
