A 56-year-old woman from Sutton, Massachusetts, was arrested Tuesday afternoon outside the Plymouth courthouse complex, where the closely-watched Lindsay Clancy murder trial is underway.
Dawn Light was taken into custody around 3:40 p.m. by Massachusetts State Police and charged with one count of intimidation of a witness, jurors or person furnishing information in connection with criminal proceedings, according to a report from NBC Boston.
The arrest occurred shortly after the jury in the Clancy case was dismissed for the day. According to the report, Light is accused of attempting to photograph members of the jury and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
State police did not immediately release further details about the allegations or confirm a direct connection to the Clancy proceedings, and it was not immediately clear whether Light had retained an attorney.

Lindsay Clancy, 36, a former labor and delivery nurse, has admitted to killing her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — on January 24, 2023, by strangling them with exercise bands in the basement of the family’s Duxbury home while her husband was out of the house. She then slashed her wrists and neck and jumped from a second-story window in a suicide attempt that left her paralyzed from the waist down.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and is asserting a lack of criminal responsibility, commonly known as an insanity defense, based on claims of postpartum psychosis and other mental health conditions.
A forensic psychologist called by the prosecution, Dr. Kirk Heilbrun, testified that Clancy was criminally responsible. He described her reported auditory hallucination — which Clancy described as a male voice that she claims instructed her to kill the children so she could kill herself — as an unusual pattern because she reported the voice only during the incident itself. Heilbrun concluded that Clancy understood the wrongfulness of her actions and retained the capacity to conform her conduct to the law.
Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague told jurors in closing arguments that Clancy “knew what she did was wrong. She could conform her behavior to the law, and chose not to.” Sprague added, “Those kids were her protective factor. Those kids were keeping her from ending her misery, and so she had to remove the protective factor. … But it was a choice.”
The jury of nine women and three men began deliberations on the afternoon of August 27 after more than five weeks of testimony involving more than 80 witnesses and 300 exhibits. On Tuesday morning, September 1, after approximately 23 hours of deliberations across four days, the panel sent Judge William Sullivan a note stating, “After many hours of deliberation, we are unable to come to a unanimous decision.”
Sullivan instructed the jurors to continue, citing the length of the trial, and they deliberated several additional hours before requesting to be excused around 3:30 p.m. Deliberations are scheduled to resume Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
Possible verdicts include first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, not guilty, or not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. As of Tuesday evening, no verdict had been reached.
