MUST-SEE: Lefty News Host’s Chair Breaks During Heated Rant Defending Abdul El-Sayed

Progressive pundit Cenk Uygur suffered an embarrassing on-air mishap when his chair suddenly collapsed beneath him during a heated defense of Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed.

The Young Turks founder was appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Thursday when a fiery political debate descended into shouting over El-Sayed, Uygur’s left-wing streamer nephew Hasan Piker and the high-stakes Michigan Senate race.

Host Piers Morgan raised a CBS News report examining deleted social media posts from El-Sayed, including comments comparing the COVID-19 death toll with the nearly 3,000 Americans murdered in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The discussion also turned to El-Sayed’s association with Piker, the controversial progressive streamer who has repeatedly drawn backlash over inflammatory political commentary.

Uygur accused CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss of trying to smear El-Sayed because he is Muslim and argued that the Democratic candidate had deleted all of his posts from before 2023, rather than selectively removing the posts highlighted in the report.

Uygur then turned his fire on Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers, accusing him of having “worked for Israel” for two decades and questioning why Rogers was not being pressured to “denounce” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Uygur also proclaimed himself an “unsanctioned surrogate” for El-Sayed.

Republican strategist Ronna McDaniel quickly shifted the discussion back toward Piker and his record of attacking the United States.

McDaniel pointed to Piker’s past statements saying that he hated America, prompting an angry response from Uygur.

“We love America! We love America so much we want to represent America instead of Israel,” Uygur shot back.

The argument only grew louder as McDaniel and Uygur repeatedly talked over one another.

Morgan then attempted to roll a compilation showing Hasan Piker repeatedly saying “I hate America” during his livestreams.

That was when the segment took an unexpected and almost perfectly timed turn.

“Oh here we go, here we go back to Hasan –” Uygur began before his chair abruptly gave way underneath him.

The progressive host suddenly dropped several inches on screen as the debate continued raging around him.

“What the f*ck is this?” he said, looking down and laughing as the other panelists continued arguing, apparently unaware that his chair had just collapsed.

The bizarre moment quickly overshadowed Uygur’s impassioned defense of  Abdul El-Sayed and Piker, turning an already chaotic political argument into an instant viral clip.

El-Sayed’s campaign has faced growing scrutiny over his past statements as he battles Rogers for Michigan’s open Senate seat, while Piker’s repeated anti-America comments have given Republicans another line of attack against the Democrat’s allies on the far left.

For Uygur, however, the loudest moment of the debate may have been the one nobody on the panel saw coming.
