NEW: White House Issues Ominous ‘PSA’ After Midterm Defeat

The White House delivered a pointed reminder to Democrats on Wednesday morning after Republicans suffered major defeats in the midterm elections, posting a photograph of President Donald Trump alongside a message emphasizing that he remains in charge.

The official White House X account published an image of Trump leaning over the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, staring directly into the camera with a stern expression.

Across the photograph, bold white lettering declared, “PSA: TRUMP IS STILL YOUR PRESIDENT.”

The administration accompanied the image with a brief message: “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The post appeared at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, just hours after Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress in a sweeping midterm election victory.

The message quickly attracted attention, drawing more than 1 million views as the White House signaled that Trump’s presidency would continue despite the Republican Party’s losses.

Democrats captured the House and Senate on Tuesday, delivering a significant setback to the GOP and dramatically changing the political landscape in Washington.

The party flipped Republican-held Senate seats in several states, including Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, Maine and the Carolinas, while also gaining ground in House races nationwide.

The results give Democrats the ability to challenge Trump’s legislative priorities and launch congressional investigations during the final two years of his presidency.

However, the midterm elections did not change who occupies the Oval Office.

Trump remains president until January 2029, and his constitutional powers, including the ability to veto legislation, remain intact.

That distinction appeared to be the central message behind Wednesday’s White House post.

While Democrats celebrated their congressional victories, the administration made clear that the Republican president was not going anywhere.

Donald Trump had already pushed back against suggestions that Tuesday’s results amounted to a personal defeat.

In a Truth Social post late Tuesday, the president argued that Republican candidates had failed to capitalize on his political influence.

“I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The president’s comments came after an aggressive campaign schedule that saw him travel across the country in an effort to bolster Republican candidates.

Despite those appearances, Democrats made substantial gains, including in states that supported Trump during the 2024 presidential election.

Republican losses were particularly pronounced in the Senate, where Democrats captured several seats previously considered important to maintaining the GOP majority.

The results also reflected voter concerns about the economy, rising living costs and the ongoing conflict with Iran.

But the White House showed little interest in allowing Democrats to claim complete control of Washington.

According to WMUR, a White House official described the administration’s mood following the election as “defiant.”

The official argued that Trump had done more to promote certain Republican candidates than they had done to promote themselves.

“President Trump did a better job promoting some of them than they did themselves,” the official said.

The administration also suggested that voters who supported Democrats could eventually reconsider their decisions if economic conditions improve.

“anyone who voted for Democrats will have buyer’s remorse when gas prices fall after the Iran conflict,” the official said.

When asked about the president’s response to the election results, the official indicated that the setbacks would not soften his approach toward congressional Democrats.

“Trump’s resolve to fight Democrats will only grow stronger.”

The official concluded with a two-word warning: “Buckle up.”

The election results set the stage for divided government, with Democrats preparing to use their congressional majorities to challenge the administration through legislation, oversight hearings and investigations.

Trump, meanwhile, retains the power to reject legislation passed by Congress, although Democrats will gain substantial influence over the federal legislative agenda.

The president’s ability to advance certain policies and secure Senate confirmation for nominees could face additional obstacles once the newly elected Congress takes office in January.

For now, the White House appears determined to project strength rather than retreat following the Republican Party’s election losses.
