Reality television star Spencer Pratt fired back at late-night host Jimmy Kimmel after becoming the target of a blistering monologue following his unsuccessful bid for Los Angeles mayor.
Pratt, best known for his role on MTV’s “The Hills,” launched a high-profile mayoral campaign earlier this year after losing his home in the devastating Palisades wildfire. Throughout the race, Pratt positioned himself as an outspoken critic of Los Angeles leadership, particularly Mayor Karen Bass, whom he blamed for the city’s response to the disaster.
While his campaign attracted significant attention online, Pratt ultimately failed to advance to the November runoff election. Jimmy Kimmel wasted little time celebrating Pratt’s defeat during a recent episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
The late-night host mocked both Pratt’s candidacy and his reality television background, suggesting that Los Angeles voters had rejected the former reality star’s attempt to enter politics. Kimmel joked that although millions of ballots were still being counted, Pratt’s path to victory had effectively disappeared.
He also took several personal shots at the former MTV personality, ridiculing his qualifications and comparing his political ambitions to a reality television stunt. At one point, Kimmel quipped that Pratt belonged behind the DJ booth at a poorly attended New Year’s Eve party rather than in City Hall.

Taking to social media, the reality star responded by resurfacing one of Kimmel’s most controversial moments from his pre-late-night television career. Pratt shared an image from “The Man Show” showing Kimmel in blackface while impersonating former NBA star Karl Malone.

The exchange escalated as Pratt argued that Kimmel’s attacks were particularly unfair given the hardships he and his family have endured over the past year. Pratt has repeatedly spoken about losing his home and many of his possessions in the California wildfires. Pratt suggested that he has already suffered enough and has little left to lose after the destruction caused by the fires.
“I have nothing left,” Pratt said while responding to the criticism, referencing the devastating losses his family experienced during the wildfire disaster.

The feud marks the latest chapter in an increasingly public battle between Pratt and Kimmel that began during the mayoral campaign. Kimmel had previously criticized Pratt’s candidacy on his show, portraying him as an unqualified celebrity seeking publicity rather than serious political change.
Pratt, meanwhile, has accused the comedian of dismissing legitimate concerns raised by Los Angeles residents who remain frustrated with city leadership following the wildfires. Despite failing to make the runoff, Pratt’s campaign attracted considerable media attention.
His candidacy was fueled largely by anger over the city’s wildfire response and by support from residents who felt local officials had failed them. While political observers never viewed him as a frontrunner, Pratt managed to generate significant publicity and social media engagement throughout the race.
