Susan Collins’ Office Attacked On Election Eve; Sick Messages Left For Staff

Republican Sen. Susan Collins’ Maine office was targeted by vandals on the eve of Election Day, with red paint dumped outside the building and an ominous message scrawled across the sidewalk.

The Monday night attack marked the second time in roughly a month that Collins’ Biddeford office had been vandalized, raising fresh concerns about intimidation directed at the senator and her staff during a heated election season.

According to Fox News, the vandals poured a bucket of red paint outside the building and left the message “BLOOD on her HANDS” written in crimson lettering on the pavement.

Collins’ chief of staff, Katie Brown, condemned the incident and made clear that the senator’s employees would not be intimidated.

“This is another incident in a series and the second attempt at our Biddeford office to intimidate the Senator and her staff. These tactics are disturbing, but not effective. Our staff is undeterred and on the job,” Brown told Fox News.

The latest vandalism follows a separate September incident in which someone spray-painted the vulgar message “Trump whore” in red across the office door.

Both incidents occurred as Collins faced mounting political pressure over immigration enforcement and her reelection campaign against former Democratic state Sen. Troy Jackson.

The Biddeford office is located near the scene of a July shooting involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel that left 26-year-old Colombian national Johan Sebastián Guerrero dead.

Following the shooting, protesters entered Collins’ Biddeford office and chanted “vote her out,” expressing anger over the senator’s political positions.

Authorities have not established whether the individuals responsible for Monday’s vandalism were connected to those earlier demonstrations.

The repeated targeting of a sitting U.S. senator’s office has drawn attention to the increasingly hostile political atmosphere surrounding the midterm elections.

Collins, a longtime Republican senator, has frequently faced criticism from activists on both sides of the political aisle, particularly over her positions on immigration, abortion and the Trump administration.

But the latest incident went beyond ordinary political protest, leaving government office staff confronting another act of property damage just hours before voters headed to the polls.

Jackson, Collins’ Democratic challenger, publicly condemned the vandalism and rejected attempts to intimidate the Republican senator.

“There’s no place for this in Maine. Vandalism and intimidation are wrong, full stop. Senator Collins and her staff should be able to do their jobs without anyone defacing their office, and I condemn whoever did this,” Jackson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The Democratic nominee had also denounced the September attack, distancing his campaign from the earlier incident.

“Senator Collins and her staff should be able to do their jobs without anyone defacing their office, and I condemn whoever did this,” Jackson said at the time.

Collins and Jackson have been engaged in a contentious Senate race, with immigration enforcement and party loyalty among the issues fueling their campaign disagreements.

The election has placed Collins’ record under intense scrutiny as Democrats attempt to unseat the Republican incumbent.

However, no evidence has been presented linking Jackson, his campaign or Democratic Party officials to either act of vandalism.

Biddeford police are investigating Monday’s incident, according to Collins’ campaign.

Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect or announced arrests in connection with the latest attack.

Collins’ office has maintained that the incidents will not interfere with its operations or prevent employees from carrying out their responsibilities.

The timing of the vandalism, coming just hours before Election Day, adds another troubling chapter to a campaign season already marked by fierce political divisions.

While voters prepare to settle the contest at the ballot box, investigators are working to determine who targeted the Republican senator’s office and whether the repeated attacks are connected.

For Collins’ staff, the message from the senator’s office remains unchanged: The vandalism will not stop them from reporting to work.
