Trump Humiliates George Conway After Fifth-Place Finish In Democratic Primary

President Donald Trump took a victory lap Tuesday night after longtime Trump critic George Conway finished near the bottom of the pack in New York City’s Democratic congressional primary.

Conway, a lawyer and co-founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, garnered just 6.1% of the vote in the crowded race to replace retiring Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, according to the Associated Press. The contest was won by state Assemblyman Micah Lasher, who defeated Alex Bores, while Jack Kennedy Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, finished further back in the field.

The disappointing result marked a setback for Conway, who built his campaign largely around opposition to Trump and promises to pursue the president politically if elected.

On Election Day, Conway spent time promoting the new book “Regime Change” by White House reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, including claims that Trump sought the presidency in part to avoid legal jeopardy.

Conway wrote on X, “Yep. And Maggie first reported in early 2019 that Trump may have run in 2020 for that very same reason.”

As returns rolled in, Trump quickly weighed in on Conway’s poor showing in a pair of Truth Social posts.

“Wow, Mr. Kellyanne Conway, a Trump Deranged Loser at the highest level, is getting absolutely CRUSHED in the Primaries tonight,” Trump wrote, referring to the Democratic field as a “rather weak field of young and aggressive Communists.”

Trump then added, “No wonder his ‘husband’ dumped him like a dog!”

The president continued, “This is a truly unattractive person, both inside and out. Have a nice life, George!”

Conway, who has been photographed on the campaign trail with girlfriend Ellen Braaten, was not the only New York Democrat targeted by Trump Tuesday night.

Roughly 10 minutes later, Trump turned his attention to Rep. Dan Goldman, who lost to his primary challenger, former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander.

“Weak and pathetic Congressman Dan Goldman just lost, BIG!” Trump wrote. “I guess people didn’t like him illegally targeting President TRUMP. In any event, this jerk is finally GONE!”

Hours later, Trump was still posting on social media, declaring, “America the Beautiful will NEVER be a Communist Country!!!”

Trump ally Roger Stone also celebrated Conway’s defeat, calling him a “repulsive load of s—” while noting the candidate spent millions on the unsuccessful campaign.

Throughout the race, Conway made opposition to Trump the centerpiece of his candidacy. He argued that Trump’s “corruption” harms “everybody in their own personal pocketbooks, their lives, everything they do.”

Speaking with The New Yorker, Conway identified abortion, affordability, and housing as policy priorities but added, “We can’t fix all of that until he’s gone.”

Conway also criticized administration spending, saying, “How do you spend $1 billion on a ballroom? It’s insane. We spent all this money to refurbish this 747 he got from Qatar.”

In a campaign advertisement aimed directly at Trump, Conway declared, “I cost you $88 million f—ing dollars, and I’ve only just gotten started,” referencing the civil judgment awarded to E. Jean Carroll after Trump denied her allegations that he sexually assaulted her.

“I know you like putting your name on everything from your plane to the Kennedy Center,” Conway said in the ad. “But the only thing your name is going to be left on when I’m done with you is the orange jumpsuit you’re going to have to wear in prison.”

Pointing toward the U.S. Capitol, Conway added, “That’s where we’re going to hold your third and final impeachment trial, the one that’s going to put you away for good, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of that.”

After the ad circulated online, the White House responded sharply.

“Lightweight George Conway is a stupid person’s idea of a smart person,” a White House spokesperson said. “His severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement syndrome has melted his brain and made him crazy in the head.”
