VIDEO: Georgia Police Rescue Two Toddlers Trapped in Scorching Car; Father Arrested

Two toddlers were rescued by Cobb County police officers after being found sobbing and trapped in a dangerously hot vehicle with interior temperatures reaching 117 degrees Fahrenheit. Authorities say the children, aged one and two, were left in the parked car for nearly 40 minutes while their father shopped inside a nearby mall.

The incident occurred outside a shopping center in Cobb County when a concerned bystander noticed the distressed children and called 911.

Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene and broke into the vehicle to rescue the children, who were visibly overheated but are expected to recover fully after being treated on-site.

The father, J’Quawn Dixon, returned to the vehicle shortly after police arrived and was immediately arrested. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree cruelty to children and is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Police emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that car temperatures can rise rapidly even on moderately warm days, putting children at grave risk of heatstroke or death in a matter of minutes.

Child Protective Services has been notified and is now involved in evaluating the children’s long-term safety.

Officials continue to urge the public: never leave children unattended in a vehicle, regardless of how brief the stop may seem.
