West Wing Descends Into Chaos As Trump Catches Pence Supporter Within His Ranks: Report

A $10 donation to former Vice President Mike Pence has reportedly put a top White House personnel official in President Donald Trump’s crosshairs.

Trump has pushed to remove Morgan DeWitt-Snow, 29, from her influential post since learning about the 2023 contribution, six sources told the Daily Mail.

DeWitt-Snow, who effectively runs the White House Presidential Personnel Office, reportedly donated to Pence after a friend “begged her” to help the former vice president qualify for a Republican presidential debate.

The small-dollar contribution has drawn scrutiny because Trump has made clear that Pence allies are not welcome in his second administration.

“It would be helpful if you would not send, or recommend to us people who worked with, or are endorsed by…Mike Pence,” Trump wrote on Truth Social shortly after returning to office.

Trump began calling for DeWitt-Snow’s dismissal in late July, but White House chief of staff Susie Wiles reportedly intervened.

DeWitt-Snow has been dubbed “Susie’s pet” inside the administration because of her close relationship with Wiles, who is “fond of her,” according to the Daily Mail. Wiles reportedly “came to the rescue” after Trump demanded her removal.

The White House denied that DeWitt-Snow is on the verge of being fired, but sources told the outlet she remains on “thin ice” and is “hanging by a thread.”

The Pence donation is reportedly not the only source of frustration.

DeWitt-Snow’s office is responsible for recruiting and vetting candidates for thousands of federal government positions. Critics inside the administration have accused the operation of moving too slowly and becoming bogged down by internal disputes.

“It’s a disaster over there. It’s like a failed state,” one source told the Daily Mail, pointing to infighting and complaints from Cabinet secretaries. “People are taking forever to get people hired and vetted.”

Despite Wiles’ reported support, DeWitt-Snow’s future could hinge on whether the personnel office can accelerate hiring across the Trump administration.
