President Trump abruptly ended a rain-soaked interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker after she repeatedly challenged his claims of election fraud in California and pushed back on efforts to compensate victims of DOJ weaponization.Trump highlighted how conservative candidates in California saw their leads evaporate days after Election Day, calling it a rigged process.“In California, it’s, no they’re not. They’re dropping fast because it’s a rigged election,” Trump said. “Do you know why they’re doing that? Because they’re cheating on the election.”When Welker demanded evidence, Trump fired back: “All I have to do is look. All I have to do is look. Do you think it’s appropriate that they have an election and five days later, they’re nowhere close to picking a winner?”On the $1.9 billion anti-weaponization fund for victims of government overreach, Trump defended the idea of compensating those destroyed by “dirty cops” and political prosecutions, especially referencing January 6 cases.“They pled guilty because they were frightened,” Trump said of some defendants. “The people were destroyed by dirty cops and by weaponization.
