VIDEO: Emmer Presses Senate to Pass Election Bill, Says Delay Ignores Public Support

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer is urging the United States Senate to move quickly on election legislation he says reflects the will of a large majority of Americans.

In remarks this week, Emmer argued the chamber should immediately take up the SAVE America Act, framing the proposal as a necessary step to strengthen election security and restore voter confidence.

“If you oppose this, you’re in favor of voter fraud,” Emmer said, calling on senators to stop delaying action and bring the bill to a vote.

Supporters of the measure say it would tighten verification rules and standardize election safeguards nationwide. Critics, however, warn that some provisions could create barriers to voting and argue the bill should undergo further debate and review before passage.

The push highlights continuing divisions in Washington over election policy, with Republicans emphasizing fraud prevention measures and Democrats stressing access and voting rights protections. The Senate has not yet announced when or whether it will consider the legislation.
